Our team and volunteers are the active engine driving this initiative. They consist of people with different personalities and backgrounds. What they have in common is their passion about beating stroke globally. This makes it easy to combine each other's strength to the benefit of stroke survivors.
Gloria is a Stroke Nurse Consultant, She worked at Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill, London for several years. A UK accredited health trainer and care manager, with a master’s degree in Advanced Neuroscience Practice, Gloria is a neuroscientist with a specialist interest in stroke/TIA care and management.
She has over 12 years of nursing practice in the UK. At Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust she pioneered the Nurse-led fast track TIA assessment and management clinic. More recently Gloria is a board member and a Fellow (FWSO) of World stroke organisation (WSO), she has been sharing her expertise on stroke management through conferences, seminars, training courses and publications. Gloria is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a representative of Stroke care International United Kingdom and Nigeria.
In 2015, Gloria established stroke support group (SSO) in Lagos Nigeria, where she has touched many lives and communities through the awareness and rehabilitation programs of stroke care international.
Stroke care international is stroke support group set up to Educate individuals about stroke recovery.
Promote a positive outlook to rehabilitation
She has been a valuable contributor to WHO-WSO Lancet stroke review and more recently WHO-PRI Stroke Group.
She is a committee member of the WSO Research Committee and a Fellow of World Stroke organisation (FWSO).
Dr Gbiri is a Neurophysiotherapist and a Senior Lecturer at Department of Physiotherapy, University of Lagos. He was awarded a postdoctoral research fellow in the field of stroke research at the University of Pretoria in South Africa
where he helped the South African government in the field of stroke rehabilitation and neurosciences. He holds a doctorate in the field of neurophysiotherapy.
He is a consultant neurology and mental health physiotherapist; a lecturer in neuro-rehabilitation at the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and is a member of the Stroke Society of Nigeria, World Stroke Society, World Congress of Neurologist, World Cerebral Palsy Association, Society for the Study of Pain in Nigeria, Nigeria-Florida Neurosciences Partnership and many other professional bodies.
He is presently working on the development of predictive model for functional recovery after stroke. He was an African Union National Award nominee for his contribution in stroke research and management. He is the founder and coordinator of Life-Care Neuro-Rehabilitation and Wellness Network (LCNRWN), a global neuro-rehabilitation initiative.
For over five years he has been training Nigerians in the field of neuro-rehabilitation and appropriate treatment strategies.
He is also a partner with many neuro-rehabilitation hospitals in the United Kingdom, United States and India.
Bhavan Bhavsar is a clinical physical therapist having global experience of over 14 years. Being specialized Neurological , cancer & pain management rehabilitation professional, he is always passionate to spread more awareness about physical ailments of health and it’s rehabilitation aspects of the same.
He is also a vivid information designer and writer. His contents are featured in international journals , magazines , web pages , blogs & newspapers.
Dr Abayomi Oluwakolade. Folajimi (MBBS, MPH, MRO, OGUK Dr)
An MDCN certified Physician with over 18 years cognate experience in medical practice, Dr Abayomi started his medical career at the prestigious Gold Cross Hospital as an emergency room practitioner.
He joined Critical Rescue International (CRI) in 2006 as an Advanced Emergency Care Physician 11, where he has been involved in numerous medical assistance cases, including ground and air ambulance evacuations for emergency cases like stroke victims utilizing fixed/rotary wing rescue internationally. This culminated in serving as an offshore medical manager off the coast of Nigerian waters and Equatorial Guinea on various rigs, platforms and maritime installations.
He subsequently assumed the role of Country Operations Manager at CRI, coordinating and leading medical operations, in such countries like Nigeria, Cote d’voire, Senegal, Portugal, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, India, UK, South Africa and the UAE.
He became the CEO/Chief Medical Adviser of the same organization shortly after and was directly responsible for the company’s strategic goals and growth initiatives developing business frontiers with bilateral and multinational organisations, striking partnerships with likes of BUPA (UK), CEGA (UK), HEALIX (UK), AXXA (FRANCE), MUTAS (BELGIUM)), ONE-CALL (USA).
He has a masters degree in Public health (MPH), serving state, local and international NGOS public health response system, with special interest in occupational and remote site medicine, and also hold advanced certifications in emergency medicine and pre-hospital care certifications from ER24, South Africa including International Trauma Life support (ITLS) and is a card carrying member of the American Heart Association (AHA).
Dr Abayomi is a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) on workplace substance abuse – mental health program, he is a licensed affiliate with Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Manchester, England and also hold license as an examining physician for offshore deployment with Oil and Gas Uk, Aberdeen, Scotland.
Dr Abayomi has sat on numerous technical boards locally and internationally, notable is the policy formulation for Integrated Emergency Ambulance Services (IEASS) for the Federal Government of Nigeria where he was mandated to put together a comprehensive policy for Nigeria in 2015.
He is currently the MD/CEO for Wellane Health Limited, MD ProcallMed Africa, MD/CEO Velocura services, Mauritius and Chief Medical Adviser to Rescue Technologies Limited, Mauritius – a technology innovative company focused on providing emergency medical and armed response services.
His present designation is Group Medical Adviser to Dangote group for Covid-19 planning /response protocol and Group occupational medicine provider.
